Church Projects
Open Arms International - Mlango Village (2010):
In 2010 we are embarking on a project to raise over 6,000 pounds to help build a house for 16 orphans in the village of Mlango near Eldoret in Kenya. See http://www.openarmsinternational.com/index.php/id.about-open-arms-village for more information.
Operation Christmas Child (2009):
Packing a shoe box of useful gifts can make all the difference to a child who might otherwise not receive any present at all at Christmas. The Ely team of churches sent 166 boxes of presents to Belarus this year - bringing God's unconditional love to many children.
Kigezi Water Project (2009):
In the Spring of 2009 this church took part in a project being run by Tearfund in the Kigezi Diocese in Uganda to provide safe water in communities where many people were spending 3 or 4 hours each day collecting water. For 25 pounds, a 400 litre water tank could be built, providing one household with safe water. We aimed to provide 100 of these tanks within the year - but raised over 4,900 pounds, enough money for 198 water tanks! As a result literally hundreds of children will not now die of water borne diseases. Praise be to God!
